This 5-day safari covers three of Tanzania’s top wildlife destinations:

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

  • Morning:

    • Pick-up from Arusha at 7:00 AM and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 3.5 hours).
    • Descend 600m into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive.

  • Game Drive Highlights:

    • Spot lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and flamingos.
    • Visit Lake Magadi, famous for its large population of flamingos and water birds.

  • Afternoon:

    • Picnic lunch inside the crater.
    • Ascend from the crater and drive to Serengeti National Park (approx. 3 hours).

  • Evening:

    • Arrive in Serengeti, enjoy an en-route game drive, then check-in at a lodge/tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

    • Early Morning:

      • Optional hot air balloon safari (if pre-booked).
      • Sunrise game drive to witness predators in action.

    • Game Drive Highlights:

      • Spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and more.
      • Visit Seronera Valley, a prime area for spotting big cats.
      • If visiting during the Great Migration, witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras moving across the plains.

    • Afternoon:

      • Picnic lunch in the bush.
      • Continue exploring different regions of Serengeti.

    • Evening:

      • Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

  • Early Morning:

    • Sunrise game drive for one last chance to spot wildlife.
    • Breakfast at the lodge/camp.

  • Mid-Morning:

    • Drive back to Arusha with a stop for lunch in Karatu or Mto wa Mbu.
    • Arrive in Arusha by late afternoon.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

  • Early Morning:

    • Breakfast, then descend 600m into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive.

  • Game Drive Highlights:

    • Spot black rhinos, elephants, buffalo, lions, hippos, wildebeests, and flamingos.
    • Visit Lake Magadi, a soda lake attracting many water birds.

  • Afternoon:

    • Picnic lunch inside the crater.
    • Ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon.
